Saturday Soccer Shockers

Yesterday, I found some shocking results for this weeks Saturday Soccer Shockers.

The first result is West Brom's amazing 1-0 win over Chelsea, this came as a surprise to Chelsea as they had won 3-0 over Everton in their last game. Stats tell me that West Brom had more shots than Chelsea, and it came to show in the 82nd minute when the Baggies defender Gareth McAuley scored only his second goal for the club scored a tap in from 5yards.

The second shocker was a result that would have shocked everyone, even the Arsenal fans. After last week both Liverpool and Arsenal were looking for consecutive wins. Liverpool were definitely the better team and showed it by having the most shots out of the two teams. Eventually, in the 23rd minute, Liverpool scored the first goal of the game, well kind of, it was an own goal from Gunners defender Laurent Koscielny (so unlucky)!!! The second goal came not long after but this time went to the opposing team (Arsenal)... Guess who scored????? Robin Van Persie it was his 30th goal on the 3rd day of the 3rd month. That goal came in the 31st minute. The teams went into the break at 1-1 but after the break both teams had lots of great chances you wouldn't believe it was still 1-1 heading towards the full time whistle. Surprisingly, against all the odds, Arsenal scored again 2 minutes into stoppage time... Guess who??? Yes it is Van Persie and it was his second of the game!!! What a shocker!!!

Tommy Jones 299 Game

American bowler Tommy Jones, during the 2011 Weber Cup, was looking for a 300 points maximum against British bowler Mika Koivuniemi. He had taken 11 shots and every time got a strike it was all down to the last shot.... Sadly, Jones, out of a possible 10 pins, knocked down 9 and ended up as a total score of 299 whilst Mika got a disappointing 162!
